536 Grumpy Dog

Completely surrounded by National Forest land is this incredible 40-acre piece of paradise. Most of the land is level and covered with a well-established and maintained mature forest. Look to the west at Little Hoodoo Mountain, and beyond to Mt Snowy, and the heart of the Cabinet Mountains Wilderness. Your privacy is paramount with the nearest neighbor almost a mile away by road. The owner controlled gated access road through National Forest Lands keeps uninvited vehicles over ¼ mile from the property boundary. Only 15 minutes to town with all but the gated driveway maintained by the county or state.
The 5000 foot Libby Airport, FAA Identifier: S59, is a 12 minute drive away per MapQuest. The handcrafted log home is a 2-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom residence that features custom cabinetry and built-ins. Many large windows, along with French doors, fill the home with natural light and frame the views of the surrounding mountains and wildlife. County records show a total of 4,591 square feet across 3 levels.
The main level includes an open-concept living room with a stove for cozy fall and winter days. Beyond the living room is a breakfast bar and a gourmet kitchen with an island that can also be used for dining. The formal dining room is set in a sunroom and includes a custom hutch as well as access to the back patio. The laundry room and pantry are conveniently located near the kitchen. The main-floor bedroom suite features French doors leading outside and an en-suite bath with a garden tub and walk-in shower. A guest half-bath is also located on the main floor.
Upstairs is a loft with plenty of room for recreation or a home office, along with an additional large bedroom and a 3/4 bath. The basement offers many possibilities and has been partially finished into a non-conforming bedroom and sitting room. Additionally, a large, airy space above the 2-vehicle garage works well as an office, studio, or game room.
There are two older, obsolete structures on the property located southeast of the main home. The larger structure is currently being used as a shop with electricity, though the water and sewer are not currently functional. The smaller, cabin-like structure does not have electricity, water, or sewer connected. Both structures offer great potential and are being sold "as-is."
