Idaho Starts Here wants people with disabilities to have meaningful access to the information and functions available on www.idahostartshere.com.
We are working to improve accessibility and usability across the Site and use the WCAG 2.2 Level AA technical standard as our accessibility target.
We do not claim that the Site is fully compliant, certified accessible, or free of every accessibility barrier. This statement describes our current approach and known limitations based on recent review.
1. Commitment
We aim to provide access to property search, educational guides, planning tools, forms, and contact methods in a way that works for more people, including users of keyboard navigation, screen readers, screen magnification, and other assistive technologies.
2. Accessibility Target
Our development target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This target guides design and remediation work but is not a legal certification or guarantee of conformance.
Standard targeted: WCAG 2.2 Level AA

3. Measures Taken
Based on current site implementation and recent review, the Site includes or is being improved to include measures such as:
- Semantic HTML structure with header, main, and footer landmarks
- A skip link to main content
- Keyboard-operable primary navigation and mobile menu
- Visible focus states on interactive controls
- Form labels and programmatic error identification on public forms
- Accessible accordion patterns on guides and FAQs
- Alternative text on many content images
- Responsive layout and text resizing support
- Reduced-motion handling for major animation features
- Screen-reader-friendly status regions on selected calculators and tools
- Print-friendly layouts for guides and legal pages
4. Known Limitations
After practical review, meaningful known limitations include:
- Some third-party MLS listing photographs and listing fields originate outside our direct control and may not always include complete accessibility metadata
- Some older or decorative images may have limited alternative text where additional review is still needed
- Third-party fonts and scripts — including Google Fonts, CDN-delivered animation libraries, and listing photo hosts — are subject to the accessibility behavior of those providers
- Google reCAPTCHA behavior and challenge presentation are controlled by Google
- Some complex comparison tables and data-heavy layouts may require horizontal scrolling on very small screens
- External documents or websites linked from the Site may not be fully accessible
We continue to review and improve these areas where reasonably possible.
5. Third-Party Content
Some listing data, images, maps, documents, and external services originate from third parties. Where a barrier is caused by third-party content, we will try to provide assistance or a reasonable alternative format when we can.
6. Feedback and Assistance
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please tell us:
- The page URL
- The feature or content involved
- The barrier you encountered
- Your preferred contact method
- Any assistive technology you choose to identify
You are not required to disclose a disability, diagnosis, or assistive-technology details to submit feedback.
Use the accessibility feedback form on this page, the general contact form, or the email address shown below.
7. Response Process
We review accessibility feedback and make reasonable efforts to respond and provide requested information or service through an accessible alternative when practicable.
8. Assessment Approach
Accessibility review on this Site is based on practical testing rather than a one-time formal certification, including:
- Keyboard-only navigation checks
- Manual review of headings, landmarks, and form labels
- Screen-reader spot testing on representative templates
- Zoom and reflow checks
- Color contrast review on primary templates
- Automated scan assistance on key pages
- Periodic re-review after major releases
Automated scans assist the review process but do not prove full conformance.
